What GlowNest knows about you — in plain English.
GlowNest is made for families. Your parent or carer manages the family account, and we use some information so chat, calls and safety features can work.
👤 What information do we have?
We may know things like your first/display name, avatar, age group, friend code, who you are friends with, messages you send, photos or voice notes you choose to send, and information about calls you make.
👨👩👧 What can my parent control?
Your parent or carer can manage your GlowNest profile and family settings. They can control things such as whether chat, calling or discoverability are switched on and can use family safety and blocking tools.
If GlowNest raises a safety alert, the parent side of your household can review it. A child profile cannot simply ignore a parent-review safety restriction.
🖼️ What happens when I send a photo?
GlowNest checks child photos before another child receives them. If the safety system thinks a photo may contain nudity, GlowNest blocks it instead of sending it on. If the server cannot safely check the photo, it does not send it.
🎥 What happens on a video call?
GlowNest runs safety checks while child video calls are happening. On iPhone/iPad, the safety check can happen on the device. On Android, tiny sampled frames can be checked by the GlowNest safety server and are not saved. If the safety system detects possible nudity, the call can end and a parent safety alert can be created.
🔒 Do you sell my information?
No. GlowNest does not sell children's personal information to advertisers. The current GlowNest website also does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
🙋 Can I ask about my information?
Yes. Children have privacy rights too. You can ask your parent or carer to help you, or you can contact us at privacy@glownestchat.co.uk.
